After over ten years of existence—from its inception as a project space in Portland, Oregon and then to New York City’s Lower East Side for seven years as a commercial gallery—Laurel Gitlen is now closed.
“We are extremely proud of both the projects we have realized at the gallery and in collaboration with institutions, as well as the growing careers we have built and nurtured in this short amount of time. We had the great privilege of taking part in an inspiring community of colleagues, curators, writers, and collectors,” said Gitlen.
The gallery’s last exhibition, Patrick Groth’s “Who Knows Why Geese Go Barefoot?,” ended on February 14, 2016.
