Laurel Gitlen has announced she will move her eponymous gallery to a larger space at 122 Norfolk in Manhattan’s Lower East Side neighborhood. The new gallery is set to open this September and provides an additional nineteen hundred square feet of floor space. Dan Duray of the New York Observer notes that her move follows the decampment of many Lower East Side galleries to larger locations—Lisa Cooley’s recent move being a prime example. Said Gitlen: “We have a lot of new artists who are working bigger and bigger, and about half of our artists are having solo museum shows this year.”
