The Morgan Library & Museum announced today that Lawrence R. Ricciardi, a retired I.B.M. executive and trustee since 2003, will take over the role of president from S. Parker Gilbert. Gilbert served as president of the institution for twenty-three years. Kate Taylor of the New York Times reports that Ricciardi was originally drawn to the Morgan because it was “a place of scholarship, of connoisseurship and of passion, and those are things that one doesn’t normally find in a day-to-day business career.”
