MacArthur Foundation Selects New President
Julia M. Stasch has been selected as the next president of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
Stasch should have a pretty good idea of what her new job holds in store; after all, she's served as interim president for the past eight months. Prior to that, she’d worked as vice president for MacArthur’s US Programs for thirteen years, leading projects in public, private, and philanthropic sectors.
She's overseen work in juvenile justice, affordable rental housing, and community development finance, as well as community and economic development in Chicago.
“Even as we support existing work and explore new areas, we also will seek public input into the design of a new competition that will offer $100 million for meaningful progress in solving a single important social problem,” said Stasch.
