Maggie Boepple has resigned as president of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), reports Artinfo. Diego Segalini, the LMCC’s current vice president, has been named acting president until a replacement is found.
As president of the LMCC, she helped usher in the creation of LentSpace, which welcomed contemporary art pieces onto a disused lot in SoHo by creating a temporary public park. Before joining the LMCC, Boepple worked for the London commissioner of transport as a senior adviser and as the chief lobbyist within Mayor Ed Koch’s administration, the first woman to hold the position.
