Marianne Boesky Gallery Appoints Stephanie Gabriel Director

Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York announced today that it has named Stephanie Gabriel director. Gabriel comes to the gallery from Lehmann Maupin, where she held various positions over the past fifteen years. Most recently, she served as a partner from 2010 to 2017. Gabriel will take up the post on February 26. The gallery also welcomed a new marketing and communications coordinator. Sara Putterman, the digital marketing manager at Sotheby’s New York, will join the gallery on February 21.

“Stephanie brings with her an incredible record of gallery leadership and wide range of long-standing relationships with artists and curators that will prove invaluable to our growing operations,” Marianne Boesky said in a statement. “And with the digital realm becoming increasingly important to reaching artists, collectors, and influential leaders alike, Sara’s experience in digital communications will play an important role as we look to the future of the gallery. We are delighted to welcome both of them to our team.”

Since it was established in New York in 1996, Marianne Boesky Gallery has represented and supported the work of emerging and midcareer international artists such as Lisa Yuskavage, Sarah Sze, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, and Barnaby Furnas. It also represents Sanford Biggers, Sue de Beer, Jay Heikes, Serge Alain Nitegeka, Pier Paolo Calzolari, and Frank Stella. In 2016, the gallery consolidated its locations across the city and expanded its Chelsea flagship to include the adjacent space at 507 West Twenty-Fourth Street, and the following year, it expanded to Aspen, Colorado.
