Martin Eisenberg Named Chair of Bard’s Center for Curatorial Studies

Arts patron and Bed Bath and Beyond vice president, Martin Eisenberg, has joined Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies as the new chair of the board of governors.

Eisenberg is a member of the acquisition committee at the Studio Museum, the committee for drawings and prints and the committee for painting and sculpture at the MoMA, and the board of White Columns. He has been a board member of the Center for Curatorial Studies for sixteen years and has been an active supporter of Bard’s Hessel Museum. In 2014, he gifted the institution nearly 200 works. The center’s executive director, Tom Eccles, said “his long-term interest in the students of the graduate program and their exhibitions at Bard, make him an ideal leader of the board.” Eisenberg succeeds former chair Marc Lipschultz and founding chair Marieluise Hessel.

The board also welcomed Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo as a new member.
