MCA Chicago Receives $2 Million to Endow Curatorship

Madeleine Grynsztejn, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, announced that the institution has received two million dollars from collectors Marilyn and Larry Fields. The funds will go toward supporting the curator position currently held by Naomi Beckwith. The Fields have previously contributed to the museum, helping to finance exhibitions such as “Phantom Limb: Approaches to Painting Today,” and “Rashid Johnson: Message to Our Folks.” Larry Fields has been on the board of trustees since 2005. Said Beckwith of the Fields' gift, “It's an amazing validation of the work that I do on a daily basis while also making an investment in the MCA's future programming. I'm so proud to carry their name into the art world.”
