Melik Ohanian Wins 2015 Marcel Duchamp Prize

Established in 2000 by the ADIAF (Association pour la Diffusion Internationale de l'Art Français) in partnership with the Centre Pompidou, National Museum of Modern Art, and FIAC, the Marcel Duchamp Prize is intended to promote the international recognition of visual artists working in France and this year’s winner is Melik Ohanian. Ohanian is represented by Chantal Crousel and has had exhibitions at the Pompidou and the French pavillon at the 2004 São Paulo Biennal, among other venues. Ohanian’s work, along with pieces from the other nominees, which included Neil Beloufa and Davide Balula, was exhibited this past week during the 42nd edition of FIAC.

Past winners of the prize include Julien Prévieux, Latifa Echakhch, and Cyprien Gaillard.
