The Miami Art Museum has received a challenge grant of $1 million from the Helena Rubinstein Philanthropic Fund to support the expansion of the museum’s collection as it prepares to move to a larger facility. The grant will be dedicated to the purchase of contemporary art and requires a one-to-one match. Funds will be released in increments of $250,000 pending the timing of these matching donations.
“The generous support from the Helena Rubinstein Foundation underscores the importance of our continued focus on building the museum’s collection,” said director Thom Collins. “With the construction of our new facility at Museum Park well underway, and our capital campaign at 75 percent of our goal, it is an opportune moment to make visible this equally important area of museum activity.”
