Diane Haithman reports in the Los Angeles Times that the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles has hired two new curators. Philipp Kaiser joins MoCA after more than five years as curator for modern and contemporary art for the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel in Switzerland. He replaces Connie Butler, who left MoCA after ten years to become the Robert Lehman Chief Curator of Drawings at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Bennett Simpson has been named associate curator after three years as associate curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, where he is curating a major survey of photographs by Philip-Lorca diCorcia.
