MOMA WORKERS OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVE NEW CONTRACT

Employees of the Museum of Modern Art belonging to the Local 2110 union have overwhelmingly agreed by a vote last night to a new five-year contract offered by the museum’s administration, according to Hyperallergic’s Benjamin Sutton.

Only 5 percent of MoMA’s nearly 300 employees in the union voted against the latest proposal, which preserves 100 percent paid health coverage for all employees. It was a concern among many that failed negotiations would lead to a strike: When talks between MoMA and its employees led nowhere in 2000, members of Local 2110 went on strike for over four months.
