Architect Monica Ponce de Leon has been selected as the next dean of Princeton University’s school of architecture. Dean of the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor since 2008, Ponce de Leon was formerly a professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design for over a decade. She cofounded Office dA, in 1991, whose projects include the Rhode Island School of Design library, and in 2011 began her own design practice, MPdL Studio. A recipient of the national design award in architecture from the Cooper Hewitt, she has also held teaching positions at RISD and Northeastern University, among other institutions.
