The Musée d’Orsay is in talks with a Hong Kong developer about opening a branch in Hong Kong’s controversial West Kowloon Cultural District, Expatica reports. The Pompidou, the Guggenheim and other cultural institutions are also considering opening outposts in the Norman Foster-designed complex, though the project has been under fire from residents of Hong Kong, who are concerned about the government’s intention to award a single developer the contract to build the complex. Speaking at an interview with the press, Musée d’Orsay president Serge Lemoine said he is “very interested” in the project but that talks are in the early stages.
