The National Endowment for the Humanities announced today that it will award $18.6 million in grants to 199 humanities projects across the country. Among the initiatives receiving support from the federal agency are the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s new digital archive, which will feature more than 1,500 documents from notable Latin American and Latino artists, critics, curators, and historians; the Fashion Institute of Technology’s new curriculum, which will include courses that integrate business and labor history into the study of art and design; and Indiana University’s efforts to preserve manuscripts, photographs, and other materials from author Ray Bradbury.

“These new NEH-supported projects deepen our understanding and appreciation of the traditions, values, and historical figures who have shaped our country,” said NEH senior deputy chairman Jon Parrish Peede. The complete list of grantees can be found on the NEH’s website.
