The National Endowment for the Arts, responding to what it called a crisis in Colorado, has decided to award a full partnership grant of $613,600 to the state’s decimated Council on the Arts. The Denver Post‘s John Moore reports that the funding was at risk after the Colorado legislature reduced next year’s funding to the CCA from 1.9 million dollars to 200,000 dollars, leaving the agency with just one full-time employee. In the past, the NEA has not funded states lacking a fully functioning arts council.
