NEW DIRECTOR AND CHIEF CURATOR FOR CISNEROS FONTANALS ART FOUNDATION

The founder and president of Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation, Ella Fontanals-Cisneros, announced that Eugenio Valdés Figueroa will be the new director and chief curator of the foundation.

A curator, critic, and expert on Latin American and contemporary art, Valdés Figueroa most recently served as art and education director of Casa Daros in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cocurator of the Havana Biennial from 1990 to 1997, he also was a contemporary African art researcher and curator of international contemporary art at the Wifredo Lam Center of Contemporary Art in Havana, Cuba from 1990 to 1997.
