New Executive Director at Irving Arts Center in Texas

Todd Eric Hawkins has been named the Irving Arts Center’s executive director, reports Deborah Fleck for the Dallas Morning News. Hawkins has worked as project manager for Public Art for Public Schools since 2008, and also cochaired the Americans for the Arts’ emerging leaders council.

The Irving Arts Center, which opened in 1986 in Irving, Texas, is a Smithsonian-affiliated organization that features two fully-equipped theaters; four galleries; classroom and rehearsal facilities; and a sculpture garden. The center hosted 203 performances and twenty-four shows last year.

Hawkins will start next month, filling a role left vacant by Richard Huff, who is stepping down after twenty years in the job.
