New Foundation Seattle Announces Grant for Artists, Curators, and Writers in Seattle and Portland

A new grant has been created by the New Foundation Seattle for visual artists, contemporary art curators, and critical arts writers living in Seattle and Portland. The so-called Career Incentive Funds will mark the first time the foundation is moving its support beyond Seattle and into Portland.

“Extending our reach to Portland acknowledges the greater Pacific Northwest as a cultural corridor,” said Yoko Ott, founding director of the New Foundation Seattle. Recipients will be allowed by the grants to research or study; travel to present work; or participate in workshops, conferences, master classes, seminars, or residency programs.

The New Foundation Seattle is the same institution behind the 100k Prize, a prize for women artists that is going in 2016 to Martha Rosler.
