New York City’s Museum of Arts and Design has been pledged a major gift of rare contemporary baskets and other woven objects, according to USA Today_.
The museum said the fifty objects are being donated by Sara and David Lieberman of Scottsdale, Arizona. They’ll be part of a larger exhibition of the couple’s collection from March 16 to September 12. Some of the baskets were created as functional vessels, while others are works that challenge traditional definitions. The museum has called it one of the best collections of contemporary baskets in the US.
