North Carolina Museum of Art to Receive Gift of Over One Hundred Artworks

The North Carolina Museum of Art will receive a gift of over one hundred works of modern and contemporary art from the collection of Jim Patton, the founder of a Washington, DC law and lobbying firm, and his late wife Mary. Their gift to the museum includes paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, and photographs by artists including Milton Avery, Sean Scully, Ellsworth Kelly, and Robert Motherwell, among others. The majority of the collection was previously transferred to the museum on December 10, 2014, and seventeen more are expected to become part of the institution's collection at a later date.
