Fort Lauderdale’s Nova Southeastern University Art Museum has announced that it has received a $1 million challenge grant from the David and Francie Horvitz Family Foundation. The donation was made in support of the institution’s exhibitions, programming, and operations. From July 1 to June 30, 2019, gifts ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 will be matched. The grant is part of a larger $250 million campaign, which is the university’s largest fundraising effort in its history.
“Our family is deeply committed to expanding arts and cultural opportunities for those who live in and visit our community, and this challenge grant allows us to enlist our peers to help us achieve this vision,” David said. He is currently serving his sixth year as chair of the museum’s board of governors. David and Francie have been members of the board since 2007.
