Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection Announces Grant Recipients

The Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, part of the Cisneros Foundation, has announced the winners of their round of grants for 2015 as part of its mission to advance scholarship of Latin American art. For the second consecutive year, the collection has awarded a grant to a Venezuelan artist to participate in the summer residency SOMA Summer in Mexico City, and the recipient of that grant this year was Alberto Morreo. The collection has also given a cultural immersion travel grant to artist Conrado Pittari Volcán, who will go to São Paulo.

In collaboration with Independent Curators International in New York, the collection has granted curators André Eugène and Leah Gordon the fourth annual Travel Award for Central America and the Caribbean. Other grants to cultural organizations in Latin America include the second half of a two-year grant to Flora in Bogotá, Colombia, and TEOR/ética in San José, Costa Rica.
