Performa Names Kathy Noble as Curator and Manager of Curatorial Affairs

Performa, the New York–based nonprofit, has announced that Kathy Noble will join the organization as curator and manager of curatorial affairs. She will be responsible for running Performa’s curatorial program, including its biennial and other events.

“Performa has provided me with me with some of the most profound and enjoyable artistic experiences of my life to date,” Noble told Artnews. “Performa’s way of working with artists, and with New York, is entirely unique, and I’m excited to develop new work that connects with the city’s communities.”

Noble has previously served as a curator at London’s Tate Modern, where she specialized in performance and time-based media; as a curator at Wysing Arts Center in Cambridge, England; and as the head of exhibitions at Nottingham Contemporary. She also organized the inaugural Art Night at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts in 2016 and has written for numerous publications, such as Artforum, Frieze, and Mousse.
