Performance at Chicago Museum Enrages New Yorkers
Artist Kerry Skarbakka's jumping off the top of Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art earlier this week had Chicagoans pausing in amusement and wonderbut has some New Yorkers furious, Andrew Herrmann writes in the Chicago Sun-Times. Skarbakka said his jumps were inspired by the images of office workers leaping from the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001. The New York Daily News on Thursday devoted its front page to Skarbakka, headlining the story KICK HIM IN THE ARTS and describing his work as a "sick . . . stunt.''
