A recent poll conducted to gauge public opinion of the arts in education and civic life demonstrates ”overwhelming” support for public funding for the arts in Massachusetts, Maureen Dezell reports in the Boston Globe. The poll, conducted in February by the McCormack Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, showed that 84 percent of the state’s residents favored state funding to support the public programs of cultural organizations.
