Princeton University Art Museum Names Stephen J. Kim Associate Director for Information and Technology

The Princeton University Art Museum in New Jersey has announced that Stephen J. Kim will join the institution as its new associate director for information and technology. Kim will be a part of the museum’s senior management team and will be responsible for developing a sustainable technological program and leading all digital initiatives. He will take up the post on September 4.

“Stephen’s background in the technology sector, including his deep experience with innovation and shaping teams, makes him an ideal fit at this time in the museum’s evolution,” said James Steward, the Princeton University Art Museum director.

Kim currently works as vice president of global accounts and solutions for Oath, a subsidiary of Verizon Communications. Previously, he served in various leadership roles at Microsoft. Over the course of his twelve-year tenure at the technology giant, Kim was director of research, vice president of global agencies and accounts, and vice president of global marketing, advertising, and online business.

The tech leader will maintain the museum’s online presence and oversee digital asset creation and management. He will also work on projects that aim to provide digital access to the museum’s collections and programming to students, faculty, and scholars. Commenting on his appointment, Kim said, “It is a privilege to join the museum team at a time of great technological opportunity for engaging our diverse audiences in innovative ways.”
