The New York–based artist Rachel Harrison has won the fourth Alexander Calder Foundation and the Scone Foundation Award. She will be awarded the prize during a ceremony at the Venice Biennale. The honor, which celebrates exemplary early-career artists, comes doted with $50,000, as well as a residency at the Atelier Calder in France and the placement of a work in a major public collection. The award has previously gone to artists Thomas Saraceno, Zilvinas Kempinas, and Tara Donovan.
