Records were set at Sotheby’s aboriginal art sale, which was held on July 28 and 29 at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, ABC Sydney reports. Tim Klingender, Sotheby’s director of aboriginal art, called the sales “amazing” and offered the example of one painting, by Emily Nowahray, that sold for 500,000 Australian dollars (300,000 US dollars), more than twice its estimate.
