Rhizome Announces 2016 Seven on Seven Collaborators
Rhizome, the new-media arts nonprofit, has announced the participants of this year’s Seven on Seven program. Founded in 2010, Seven on Seven pairs creators and technologists, who are together charged with producing a project in a limited amount of time.
Previous editions have featured artist Taryn Simon working with Internet activist Aaron Swartz, and Snapchat’s David Kravitz collaborating with artist Frances Stark. This year’s collaborations are as follows:
Filmmaker, artist, and writer Miranda July and Paul Ford, writer and cofounder of Postlight
Video artist Hito Steyerl and Grant Olney Passmore, cofounder of Aesthetic Integration
Installation artist Jennifer Steinkamp and Rana el Kaliouby, founder of Affectiva
Artist and writer Claire L. Evans and Tracy Chou, software engineer at Pinterest
Rapper Junglepussy and Jenna Wortham, staff writer, New York Times
Artist Trisha Baga and Mike Woods, founder ofWhite Rabbit VR
Artist Ingrid Burrington and Meredith Whittaker, founder of Google’s Open Source
and Security Research Group
