The William G. And Marie Selby Foundation has provided $250,000 in support of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art’s new Center for Asian Art, which will display works from the Ringling’s permanent collection as well as works on loan from partner institutions like the Arthur M. Sackler Foundation, reports ABC.
Designed by Machado Silvetti, the Center for Asian Art features a new pavilion and a comes alongside a major renovation to an existing portion of the museum that will add 6,800 square feet of exhibition space, a lecture hall, a print study room, and storage.
The Selby Foundation’s supported the museum before, with the William G. And Marie Selby Courtyard at the Ulla R. and Arthur F. Searing Wing housing a James Turrell skyspace.
