On Tuesday, the city of San Diego voted to suspend nearly $630,000 in public arts funding, notes Hailey Persinger in the San Diego Union-Tribune. The outcome was supported by mayor Jerry Sanders, who noted the city’s deficit of $56.7 million. The art projects to be halted were slated to appear in a library, several fire houses, and a pump station.
