Nate Freeman of Artnews has written that Scott Indrisek, formerly the senior editor at Anthem magazine, has been named the new editor-in-chief at Modern Painters. Indrisek starts his post this May. Rachel Corbett, who previously worked at the Art Newspaper, will be coming aboard as executive editor. And joining the magazine as a contributing editor will be novelist Chris Kraus.
“We’re excited to continue exploring what role an art magazine should actually play in the twenty-first century. Part of that, I think, will involve a more interdisciplinary approach—novelists reflecting on painting; musicians interviewing sculptors—as well as bringing in the voices of working artists themselves,” says Indrisek.
