The Seattle Art Fair has announced that the newly created role of artistic director will be filled by Laura Fried, an LA-based curator who formerly worked at the Contemporary Art Museum Saint Louis. There, she organized shows featuring Carey Young, Stephen Prina, Elad Lassry, and Spencer Finch. At the Seattle Art Fair, her job will involve “developing all prefair programmatic activities, on-site and off-site installations, as well as talks, panels, and presentations,” according to a statement released by the fair.
The fair is still relatively new, having debuted last year. Its second iteration will showcase returning exhibitors including Paul Kasmin, David Zwirner, and Pace Gallery, alongside new exhibitors such as Petzel Gallery and Jane Lombard Gallery. The fair will also include Seattle stalwarts such as Greg Kucera Gallery, Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, and Winston Wächter Fine Art.
