Sikkens Prize Recognizes Bridget Riley

The BBC reports that eighty-one-year-old artist Bridget Riley has won the Sikkens prize, a Dutch award that recognizes the use of color. As part of the prize, the Gemeentemuseum in the Hague will host an exhibition of her art that will run through June. According to the Sikkens Foundation, which awards the prize, Riley has created a “a sensational oeuvre from which a new generation of artists is drawing inspiration.”
