SIMON DE PURY LAUNCHES NEW DIGITAL AUCTION PLATFORM

Simon de Pury will return to the auction market with an online platform called de Pury that will host a series of internet auctions based on single-owner collections, and stage physical exhibitions in London and New York. The venture is in partnership with the antique dealer Mallett and has backing from investor Klaus Hommels. De Pury’s first auction will be a sale of approximately four hundred works from the Lambert Art Collection, to take place in London both in person and online on October 12, 2015. This sale is Simon de Pury’s first commercial auction since leaving Phillips de Pury in 2012, where he was chairman and chief auctioneer.

The October auction will include a selection of contemporary art and modern design works as well as antique furniture and other objects from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, as chosen by Baroness Lambert who represents the collection. The auction will be accompanied by a digital catalogue rather than a printed one.
