On Monday, Austria’s minister of culture Thomas Drozda announced that Stella Rollig, currently the artistic director at the Linzer Lentos Kunstmuseum, has been appointed as the new director of Vienna’s Belvedere, reports Monopol.
Born in 1960, Rollig began her position at the Linzer Lentos Kunstmuseum in 2004 and later simultaneously directed the city’s Nordico Museum. She will replace the Belvedere’s director of nine years, Agnes Husslein-Arco. As artforum.com previously reported in August, Husslein-Arco’s contract was dismissed after she admitted to violating internal codes of conduct and compliance.
In connection with the so-called “Belvedere-Affaire,” the museum also hired a new commercial director, Wolfgang Bergmann, previously managing director of Vienna’s daily newspaper Der Standard.
