Storefront for Art and Architecture Announces Winner of 2015 Street Architecture Prize Competition

A virtual web-based community proposed by SecondMedia is the winning project of this year's Storefront for Art and Architecture’s Street Architecture Prize Competition. The biennial international competition that selects for a design of a unique temporary outdoor structure for the IDEAS CITY Festival’s theme: the Invisible City.

SecondMedia’s project, titled Foamspace, offers a virtual arena where visitors can register for a digital wallet as well as propose, vote on, and fund projects that’ll expand the festival’s civic engagement.

Selected from a pool of seventy-four applicants, SecondMedia will receive a $7,500 award plus a $20,000 construction budget.
