Swiss Institute Appoints Simon Castets Director

Simon Castets has been appointed director of the Swiss Institute, effective 2013. Castets is an independent curator based in New York. His most recent exhibition was the group show, “Champs Elysées,” which he cocurated with Julie Boukobza and Nicola Trezzi at Palais de Tokyo. He succeeds Gianni Jetzer, who acted as director for the past seven years. Said chairwoman Fabienne Abrecht: “Over the past twenty-seven years, Swiss Institute has become the key venue for innovative cultural dialogue between Switzerland and the United States. Simon’s international background makes him a natural choice for us, being a New York institution with Swiss roots. As one of today’s most exciting young curatorial voices, Simon brings a fresh vision to the Swiss Institute and opens the door to the next generation.”
