The Armory Show Announces Curators for 2017 Edition

The Armory Show today announced that Jarrett Gregory, an associate curator of contemporary art at LACMA, and Eric Shiner, the director of the Andy Warhol Museum, have been appointed as the curators of the 2017 Armory Show. Next year’s Armory Show will run from March 2 through March 5, with Gregory overseeing the “Focus” section encompassing fifteen to twenty solo artist presentations, and Shiner will be working with artists to develop projects for the “Platform” area of the show, a new section dedicated to large-scale installations and performances.

Gregory recently curated the retrospective of Pierre Huyghe at LACMA in 2015 and a solo show of Stephen Prina’s work at LACMA as well. Prior to joining that museum, she was an assistant curator at the New Museum in New York.

Shiner has been the director of the Andy Warhol Museum since 2011 and in 2013 curated for the Armory Show a section called “Armory Focus: USA,” meant to present a broad picture of contemporary practices in the country today.
