THE AWARD for Dancers Announces 2015 Winners

THE AWARD, a new, nonmonetary mentoring initiative for performance artists and dancers in New York, has announced that their mentees for this year are dance artists Kim Brandt and Cori Olinghouse. Brandt and Olinghouse will spend the next year working with mentoring artists Yanira Castro and Walter Dundervill respectively.

Both the awardees and their mentoring artists also receive year long memberships and season tickets for fall 2015 to spring 2016 at a number of organizations including The Chocolate Factory, The Danspace Project, The Kitchen, La MaMa Experimental Theater Club, MoMA PS 1, The New Museum, New York LiveArts, The Park Avenue Armory, and Performance Space 122.

Conceived by Dean Moss, THE AWARD uses dance’s embodied economy of direct relationships to enhance the field’s available resources by making fiscal restriction the foundation of its strategy. The program is developed and facilitated with NYU performance studies Ph.D. candidate Joshua Lubin-Levy.
