THOMAS SCHüTTE ESTABLISHES NEW MUSEUM NEAR DüSSELDORF

Artist Thomas Schütte is building a new sculpture hall on the grounds of the Museumsinsel Hombroich near Düsseldorf, reports Deutschlandfunk’s Sabine Oelze. Designed by Düsseldorf-based RKW Architects, the 1,300-square-foot venue will serve as exhibition and storage space, and will be opening April 10.

Schütte said his starting point was “what to do with your things when you’re dead.” He added, “Art storage space costs as much as an apartment.”
