Digital artist Tim Freeman has been named Welsh Artist of the Year 2009 for his take on a traditional landscape scene, reports the BBC. The Cardiff-based Freeman entered a piece titled Hidden System_, which beat five hundred other entries to take the title. He was presented with a prize of approximately three thousand dollars.
The judging panel, which included Welsh artist Terry Setch and last year’s winner Philippa Lawrence, said it was the “quality” of Freeman’s image that stood out from the other entries.
