Frieze has announced that Toby Kamps, the current curator of modern and contemporary art at the Menil Collection in Houston, will be the new curator of the “Spotlight” section at Frieze Masters and Frieze New York, which focuses on solo presentations of twentieth-century art. He will curate the upcoming edition of Frieze Masters in London from October 6–9, 2016 and Frieze New York in 2017.
Kamps has previously been curator and department head at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; director of the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art, Portland; and senior curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston.
