Tom Dunn Appointed Inaugural Director of Southampton Arts Center

Southampton Arts Center, the multidisciplinary arts space located in the heart of Southampton Village in New York, announced today that Tom Dunn was named its first-ever executive director. Dunn joins the nonprofit organization from Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where he was part of the senior management team.

“Tom’s deep knowledge, extensive experience, and passion for the arts position him perfectly to lead Southampton Arts Center’s next phase of growth,” said Simone Levinson, the cochair of the institution’s board of directors. Dunn will oversee all aspects of the organization, including strategic planning, programming, community engagement, and audience development.

During his tenure at Lincoln Center, Dunn helped oversee the $1.2 billion physical redevelopment of the cultural hub’s sixteen-acre campus. Dunn served in a series of managerial roles at the institution, including as the founding director of the David Rubenstein Atrium; an aide to the president of Lincoln Center; and most recently, the senior director of concert halls operations. Previously, Dunn worked as a writer, producer, and director in the off-Broadway, comedy, and television industries.

“I look forward to working with the staff, board, and Southampton Village officials to build on the success of SAC’s first five years and to create a dynamic, sustainable organization that will serve the East End community for years to come,” Dunn said.

Located at 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton Arts Center welcomes almost forty thousand visitors, presents several exhibitions, and organizes hundreds of events annually. Among the organizations it partners with to host programs are the New York Academy of Art, the Hamptons International Film Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Telluride Mountainfilm, and the Watermill Center.
