Mounir Bouchenaki, UNESCO’s assistant director-general for culture, recently returned from heading a delegation of archaeological experts to Iraq and provided an update on the status of the country’s looted antiquities, Jonathan D. Salant reports in the Boston Globe. Bouchenaki said that officials at Iraq’s National Museum are still working on compiling an accurate list of missing items.
