Alex Greenberger reports at ArtNews that last week seventy-three alumni of the University of Southern California’s MFA program in art signed an open letter of support for the seven first-year MFA students who dropped out last month from USC’s Roski School of Art and Design. The letter was published on MFA No MFA’s Tumblr account, which represents and is maintained by the seven former students of the program.
Signed by alumni who graduated from the program between 2005 and 2014, the letter demonstrates similar concerns to those cited by the first-year MFA students as their reason for dropping out. Among the letter’s signees are artists such as Jibade-Khalil Huffman, Alex Israel, Elad Lassry, Cayetano Ferrer, and Amanda Ross-Ho, and it can be read in full here.
