Hong Kong should proceed with the West Kowloon Cultural District project without further delay or risk losing out to other regional centers, Victoria and Albert Museum director Mark Jones has warned. As Sylvia Hui reports in The Standard (Hong Kong), Jones said that in order to put Hong Kong on the world cultural map and catch up with its neighbors, work should start imminently at West Kowloon. “Other Asian cities are not just catching up, they are overtaking—now. I’m not talking about the future,” he said. “It is extremely difficult to identify other Asian cities that are not investing in culture.”
