WINNERS OF REMA HORT MANN’S VISUAL ART GRANTS

The Rema Hort Mann Foundation’s 2008 visual-art-grant winners are Kerstin Braetsch, Josh Brand, Glen Fogel, K8 Hardy, Allison Katz, Dave McKenzie, Lisa Oppenheim, and Marlo Pascual. Each artist will receive a ten-thousand-dollar grant. Grant recipients—who work with a broad range of media, including painting, film, video, and installation art—were nominated by a committee comprised of noted scholars, critics, museum professionals, artists, and former grantees. A separate independent selection committee determined the grantees. The selection-committee members this year were Lia Gangitano of Participant Inc, collector Susan Hort, Massimiliano Gioni of the New Museum, Matthew Higgs of White Columns, and Gary Murayari of the Whitney Museum.
