Winners of the 2016–2017 Rome Prize Announced

E.V. Day, Nicole Miller, Michael Queenland, and Enrico Riley are the winners of the 2016-2017 Rome Prize in the category of visual arts. Meanwhile, Phu Hoang and Rachely Rotem, Robert Hutchinson, and Yasmin Vobis are winners in the architecture category; Kyle deCamp and David Reinfurt have won in the category of design.

In addition to receiving a stipend, those selected are also provided with room, board, and studio space at the American Academy in Rome for a duration of six months to two years. Rome Prize winners are selected by juries comprising scholars and artists through a national competition in one of eleven categories.

Winners in literature, music composition, landscape architecture, and historic preservation and conservation are selected as well. The other prizewinners include scholars being recognized for their research in ancient, medieval, renaissance and early modern, and modern Italian studies.
